The Story Behind Brok3nsil3nc3

Brok3nsil3nc3 was created from a journey of turning silence into self-expression. Growing up with social anxiety, I often struggled to put my thoughts into words. Poetry became the place where I found confidence, healing, and eventually my voice.

One piece that deeply impacted me was Mother to Son by Langston Hughes. I would recite it constantly, inspired by its message of perseverance and strength. In many ways, those words helped me believe that my own voice mattered too.

The “3” in Brok3nsil3nc3 represents both transformation and the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. My faith has been the foundation of this journey, and I know none of this would be possible without God’s guidance and grace.

Today, Brok3nsil3nc3 exists to help others express what is often difficult to say. Through personalized poetry, I transform emotions, memories, and meaningful moments into words that connect, inspire, and endure.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey and for trusting me with your words

MAKE ME WANNA HOLLER!

What would Martin Luther King Jr say about the world today? All men are treated equal, sure, except the ones that are "openly gay". Tormented ,  beaten and called a Fag, but what about these "real men" that solicit their asses when they sag. Do we judge not by the color of our skin, but by our characteristics, NO! because even when the minority is the majority, we still represent the lowest statistics. Whether it be the employment rates or academic progress, yet it saddens me how it switches when it comes to "accidental"  deaths and arrests.

What would Rosa Parks think about us, she would be so disappointed to see all the blacks sitting in the back of the bus, but not because they have to but completely by free will, I could not imagine how unappreciated she would feel.

Harriet Tubman risked her life to get her people free, she would surely die from heartache if she stepped foot into the penitentiary. The majority of African American males are back in shackles and chains, a few even lynched by getting poison shot right through their veins--OH! Make me wanna holler! Powerful outcry of Mr, Marvin Gaye which is still very much relevant in the world that we are living in today.

GRIEF

SILENT GOODBYE

I can't believe that you are actually gone. I try to accept it, hold my head up and stay strong. At times, I am okay, no signs of sadness or pain, but a simple thought of you can make it impossible to restrain. Nose stopped up, making it hard for me to breathe causing the biggest headache you wouldn't even believe! Yet as the tears run viciously down my face, I find comfort in knowing you with him now, in a better place. I trust him enough not to ask "Why?" I just wish that there was a way I could have said...GOODBYE.

When you smile my spirit rejoices /

Can’t even begin to elaborate how sweet the sound your voice is / Looking into your eyes, I can see right thru to your soul / But it is when you put your hands on me, I definitely lose all  control / You are meant for me, the love of my life / I’m willing to take things slow, but I can’t wait to refer to you as my Beautiful wife / We don’t always have it all together / but I believe that together we will have it all / Everyday I feel like a damn dope fiend when i am eagerly anticipating your very first call / You are the Ellie to my Noah / my Nina to my Darius / I know that I have some shortcomings but I promise to do the work and master all of those areas / You are my end game and I need you, to stay sane / I pray you feel the same because It hurts just to fathom your absence, such heartache, such pain / I only think of you on two occasions, you already know the Deele / no need for persuasion baby, cuz you know our chemistry is undeniable; so authentic, so strong/ you deserve the best, my Queen, you deserve it all / I’m ready to profess my love/ ready to catch your crown if it should ever fall / I am in love with you and it will never go away / I will choose you always with each passing day / the past is the past but the future is ours / I want to spend the rest of my life loving on you / For Hours & Hours and Hours
